The MEP Senior Project Manager position is an integral role within Suffolk's Mission Critical Center of Excellence, a division specializing in handling complex data center and mission-critical construction projects for top technology and telecommunications clients across the United States. The team focuses on delivering MEP-intensive projects that require detailed coordination and technical expertise. This role involves managing all aspects of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection project resources and documentation through every phase of the project lifecycle. Job Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Fire Protection or related engineering field
- Minimum 10 years of experience in managing MEP systems in construction projects
- Proven experience in subcontractor selection and management
- Strong knowledge of mechanical bid tabs and contract exhibits
- Demonstrated ability to review and approve MEP requisitions and change orders
- Experience conducting site inspections and ensuring schedule adherence
- Effective communication skills for coordination with BIM/VDC personnel, superintendents, and A/E teams
- Ability to oversee inspections, testing documentation, and commissioning agent activities
- Experience coordinating multi-trade project elements and managing equipment delivery logs
- Experience in attending and contributing to owner, subcontractor, coordination, and field meetings
- Knowledge of AHJ approval processes and life safety inspections
- Ability to manage retail or tenant fit-outs when applicable
- Capable of developing and completing MEP punch lists and coordinating owner training and turnover
- Familiarity with public utility coordination for temporary and permanent services
- Ability to coordinate documentation to ensure compliance with electrical requirements for mechanical
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities

Job Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science (technical/engineering degree) Mechanical, HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical and Fire protection
- Minimum 10 years experience with Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing and Fire Protection Systems
- Excellent business judgment demonstrated by consistently achieving profitability objectives and strong project close-outs with client and subcontractor relationships in good standing
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail evidenced by a strong command of all applicable contract and legal provisions
- Ability to consistently analyze and execute financial trade-offs which frequently involve dealing with incomplete data and ambiguity
- Ability to constantly multi-task and handle competing priorities between Suffolk business needs, organizational issues, and sound customer relations
- Possess judgment to know when to appropriately escalate issues up the chain of command

Job Duties
- Responsible for review of mechanical bid tabs as well as exhibit B in contract
- Responsible for interviewing and selecting sub-contractors for each project
- Responsible for day-to-day management of MEP sub-contractors
- Responsible for reviewing and approval of MEP monthly requisitions
- Responsible for reviewing and approval of MEP change orders
- Responsible for site walks to ensure work is progressing according to schedule, including schedule updates
- Responsible for direct communication with BIM/VDC personal and Superintendent to ensure coordination is on track with schedule
- Work with A/E team to develop successful solutions to coordination items
- Responsible for the review all MEP submittals
- Responsible for obtaining all documentation from inspections and testing (varies on size of job)
- Responsible for overseeing the MEP & FP contractor as well as the commissioning agent
- Responsible for coordinating and working with any owner third party MEP contractors or testing agencies
- Responsible for obtaining all mechanical close out documentation
