Job Description

Healthfirst is a prominent healthcare organization dedicated to improving the health and well-being of its members. As a leader in the healthcare insurance industry, Healthfirst offers a comprehensive range of health plans that include medical, dental, vision, and other related benefits, ensuring members have access to necessary care and support. The organization is deeply invested in fostering a supportive work environment that promotes employee growth, engagement, and satisfaction through comprehensive benefits and wellness programs.

The Benefits Senior Manager role at Healthfirst is an essential leadership position responsible for supporting benefits administration, renewal strategy, and ensuring the smooth management of the open enrollment process. Reporting to the Benefits Director, this manager position plays a pivotal role in developing and executing a holistic benefits strategy aligned with organizational goals, culture, and budget. The scope of this role includes managing various employee benefits programs such as 401(k), medical, dental, vision, life insurance, FMLA, and disability. The individual in this role collaborates closely with HR senior leadership and the Benefits Committee to design and implement benefits programs that meet the diverse needs of Healthfirst's workforce.

A key responsibility is maintaining expert knowledge of group insurance plans, including plan documents and summary plan descriptions, as well as continuously monitoring program effectiveness and compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements such as ACA, ERISA, HIPAA, and COBRA. The Benefits Senior Manager also coordinates renewal processes with brokers, conducts market benchmarking to keep offerings competitive, and actively supports the open enrollment process including employee communication and engagement strategies.

This role serves as the primary resource for the Shared Services team by addressing benefits-related inquiries and providing guidance. The manager is also responsible for developing and implementing communications to educate employees about their benefits and enhancing employee participation. Collaboration with HR Business Partners and leadership is a vital part of this position, ensuring benefits programs are effectively socialized and understood throughout the organization.

Leadership and team development are pivotal aspects of this role, where the manager fosters growth by setting clear expectations, providing feedback, and empowering team members toward continuous improvement. The position requires proficiency in benefits analytics and reporting, including evaluating program effectiveness through key performance indicators and working closely with finance teams to manage benefits budgets.

The Benefits Senior Manager will be expected to work in a hybrid capacity, reporting to the 100 Church Street, NYC office on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. Salary ranges are competitive, reflective of the candidate's experience, education, and certifications, with a hiring range between $122,900 and $188,020 for Greater NYC area residents and $105,100 to $160,480 for all other approved locations. Healthfirst’s compensation package includes comprehensive medical, dental, vision coverage, incentive programs, life insurance, and 401(k) contributions, all subject to eligibility requirements.

This position offers a unique opportunity for an experienced benefits professional to lead strategic initiatives and ensure the delivery of robust benefits programs that support employee wellness and organizational success at Healthfirst.
