The Senior HR Generalist role at Lubrizol is an exciting opportunity to be at the forefront of enhancing the employee experience at either the Brecksville or Wickliffe site in Ohio. This position is designed for professionals who thrive on providing comprehensive human resources support within a dynamic manufacturing and technology-driven environment. The role includes delivering front-line employee life cycle support, collaborating closely with Human Resources Partners and Centers of Excellence (COEs) to implement consistent, compliant, and people-centered HR solutions. The Senior HR Generalist serves as the primary contact for a client group of approximately 50-75 employees, addressing their questions related to policies, programs, and processes while managing essential HR tasks such as onboarding, offboarding, leave management, accommodations, and compliance with employment laws.

This position emphasizes the importance of strong interpersonal skills, organizational capabilities, and problem-solving acumen. The successful candidate will maintain HR records, perform audits, coordinate employee transitions, and support unemployment claim processes. Additionally, the role involves maintaining site communications through bulletin boards and conducting new hire orientations to ensure alignment with site needs. Working primarily in an office environment, the Senior HR Generalist will occasionally engage with pilot plants or R&D lab environments, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).

Job Duties

  • provide onsite HR support to employees and managers at assigned sites answering questions on policies programs and processes
  • serve as the primary HR contact for a designated client group of approximately 50-75 employees providing day-to-day employee and manager support
  • coordinate employee life cycle activities including onboarding and offboarding and process employee changes through the MyHR system
  • manage the employee exit process as the first point of contact following MyHR submissions partnering with managers and HR Partners to ensure timely separations
  • serve as the point of contact for leave management and ADA accommodations partnering with HR Partners as needed
  • assist with unemployment claims by supporting case documentation and responses in the Case Builder system
  • maintain employment authorization documentation by managing Form I-9 files and completing periodic audits to support compliance
  • maintain accurate HR records and help ensure compliance with employment laws regulations and company policies
  • maintain site communications by keeping the HR bulletin board accurate and ensuring updates are printed and posted across the site
  • conduct weekly new hire orientation sessions as needed and keep orientation content current relevant and aligned to site needs
  • identify opportunities to improve HR processes and efficiency partnering with HR Managers and HR COEs to implement enhancements that strengthen the employee and manager experience
