Job Description

Marriott International is a globally recognized hospitality company renowned for its commitment to delivering exceptional guest experiences and fostering a diverse and inclusive work environment. This multinational corporation operates a broad portfolio of hotel and resort brands, including Sheraton Hotels & Resorts, which has been a flagship brand within Marriott International. Sheraton stands as a global community hub since 1937, championing a culture of belonging, engagement, and thoughtful service across more than 400 locations worldwide. With a tradition of excellence and innovation, Marriott International continues to set industry standards and offer enriching career opportunities within the hospitality sector. Located in Lake Buena Vista, Florida, the Sheraton at this specific location offers an exciting and dynamic workplace for professionals passionate about the hotel and resort industry. As a full-time management position within the Sales and Marketing category, this job offers a competitive pay range of $43.86 to $62.02 per hour and includes eligibility for bonuses, reflecting Marriott’s commitment to rewarding its talented team members.

The role of Group Sales Manager at Sheraton, Lake Buena Vista, is pivotal in driving group sales revenue and providing outstanding customer service within the hotel’s sales office. This position acts as the on-property liaison for group sales, managing business within the predefined peak room parameters to maximize revenue potential. Responsibilities include contracting and closing group business, conducting site inspections, and ensuring that the turnover of business to Event Management is timely and accurate, guaranteeing quality service delivery. The Group Sales Manager is tasked with actively up-selling each business opportunity to meet and exceed group revenue goals while implementing Marriott's brand service standards and initiatives. A key aspect of the role involves collaborating closely with the Area Sales team to identify new group and catering business opportunities, develop sales and marketing plans, and participate in promotional activities designed to enhance group sales performance.

This management role requires a strong understanding of the market landscape, including competitors, economic trends, and supply and demand dynamics. The Group Sales Manager will use creative negotiation and selling abilities to close contracts and maximize revenue while working with hotel management to align sales strategies with overall property goals. Providing an exceptional customer experience is a fundamental aspect of the role — from conducting pre- and post-convention meetings to managing guest satisfaction and resolving any issues that arise through clear communication and teamwork. The ideal candidate will have a background in sales, marketing, guest services, or related fields and is expected to build and maintain relationships with existing and new clients through various engagement strategies such as sales calls, entertainment, trade shows, and community involvement.

Working at Sheraton, part of the Marriott International family, means joining a team dedicated to creating a welcoming environment where employees can grow professionally while making a meaningful impact on guests’ experiences. The company is an equal opportunity employer, embracing diversity and non-discrimination in all aspects of employment. This includes offering opportunities for veterans, individuals with disabilities, and all others protected by law. The company values cultural richness, talent, and the unique perspectives that associates bring to their roles. Joining the Sheraton team at this Florida property offers a chance to be part of a brand with a storied legacy and a mission to be 'The World’s Gathering Place.' This is an excellent opportunity for professionals excited about hospitality sales and marketing to contribute to a globally respected brand while building a rewarding career.
