With a commitment to excellence in health care delivery, Banner Health operates numerous hospitals, medical centers, and specialty clinics offering comprehensive health services. One of its distinguished facilities is the Banner Del E. Webb Medical Center located in Sun City West, Arizona. This medical center is highly respected in the northwest Valley of metro Phoenix and has earned recognition by U.S. News and World Report as one of Phoenix's Best Hospitals. Boasting 391 licensed beds, the center provides a broad spectrum of specialized care including acute medical and surgical services, intensive care, emergency and urgent care, inpatient and outpatient surgery, cardiac catheterization, neurology, orthopedics, oncology, urology, pulmonary care, obstetrics and gynecology, outpatient diagnostic services, and adult behavioral services.

The Culinary & Nutrition-Hospitality department at Banner Del E. Webb Medical Center seeks passionate and dedicated Food Service professionals who deliver exemplary service to patients, visitors, and hospital staff. Within this department, the Senior Food Service Worker role stands out as a crucial position, offering a blended experience of culinary skill application and customer service excellence. This full-time position (40 hours per week) operates on a varied schedule with shifts primarily from Monday to Friday, 12:00 PM to 8:30 PM. Employees also benefit from an 18% night shift differential for hours worked from 7 PM onward, in addition to a $1 per hour weekend shift differential for all weekend hours worked, enhancing overall compensation.

As a Senior Food Service Worker, you will immediately feel welcomed and valued as part of a family-oriented and well-established culinary team. The role involves working in one of the medical center’s cafes, where you will prepare and cook food, stock supplies, serve customers, and handle cashiering duties similar to those of a Barista. The position requires comprehensive knowledge of food production planning, recipe adjustments, inventory management, and adherence to food safety and handling standards. You will be responsible for timing and quantity planning of food production, minimizing waste, managing stock levels, and ensuring all food items are prepared according to standardized recipes. Additionally, you will engage directly with customers, providing high quality service and swiftly resolving issues that arise at the point of contact, escalating concerns to supervisors as necessary.

This role further demands exceptional organizational skills, the ability to function independently with sound judgment, and strong communication skills to interact effectively with patients, hospital staff, visitors, and teammates. The position also includes responsibilities such as cleaning and sanitizing kitchen areas and equipment, maintaining attractive and well-stocked service stations, and supporting special catering or event services when needed. Banner Health offers a career path that supports your professional growth, encouraging additional learning and advancement opportunities within the organization. Joining this team allows you to contribute meaningfully to patient care by ensuring the delivery of safe, nutritious, and appealing food in a healthcare setting, making a positive impact on the recovery and satisfaction of patients and guests alike.
