Job Description
Sodexo is a leading global provider of food services and facilities management, dedicated to improving the quality of life for individuals and communities worldwide. With a mission to create a better everyday for everyone, Sodexo operates in various sectors including healthcare, education, corporate, government, and more. The company is known for its commitment to diversity, inclusion, and sustainable practices, making it a respected employer and service provider internationally.
The role of Senior Area Executive Chef at Sodexo is an exciting leadership opportunity based in Fayetteville, North Carolina, specifically serving Cape Fear Valley Health, a prominent healthcare system in the region. Cape Fear Valley Medical Center is a trauma level III acute care hospital, featuring 733 licensed beds and 78 rehabilitation beds. It is part of the larger Cape Fear Valley Health System, which is the eighth largest health system in North Carolina, with a total of 916 patient beds, serving a six-county area in Southeastern North Carolina and more than 935,000 patients annually.
This position entails overseeing culinary operations across six hospitals within the Cape Fear Valley Health System. The Senior Area Executive Chef will be responsible for various critical functions including purchasing, menu compliance, inventory management, food cost analysis, and forecasting food production needs. The role also involves providing district-level support, managing catering services, training and developing staff, and ensuring that Sodexo’s culinary standards are consistently met, particularly in terms of recipe adherence and food quality.
A successful candidate will have strong leadership abilities, a passion for culinary innovation, and the capacity to motivate team members to embrace new culinary trends. Ensuring compliance with food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety standards is a key aspect of the role. Additionally, proficiency or working knowledge of automated food inventory, ordering, production, and management systems is preferred to streamline operations and maintain efficiency.
Sodexo values fair and equitable compensation, with salary offers tailored based on individual qualifications such as education, experience, skills, and training. The benefits package is competitive and comprehensive, including medical, dental, and vision coverage, wellness programs, a 401(k) plan with matching contributions, paid time off, company holidays, career growth opportunities, and tuition reimbursement.
Joining Sodexo means becoming part of a company that prioritizes employee well-being, values diversity, and fosters an inclusive environment where all employees are respected and empowered to contribute their unique perspectives. The Senior Area Executive Chef role is ideal for someone who is not only an experienced culinary professional but also a dedicated leader who thrives in a dynamic healthcare food service environment where their work impacts thousands of patients and staff daily.
