Committed to providing an inclusive and equitable educational environment, LMU fosters the development of the whole person and actively contributes to building a just society. The university emphasizes a culture of excellence, accountability, and professional integrity, making it a vibrant place for academic and professional growth. Located in Los Angeles, LMU’s Loyola Law School offers a dynamic setting for legal education and community engagement, complete with modern facilities that host a wide range of academic, fundraising, and community events throughout the year.

The position at Loyola Marymount University’s Law School is designed to support the successful operations of various events by planning, managing, and coordinating activities in alignment with the school's mission and strategic goals. This full-time staff role comes with a salary range between $71,100 and $88,900, commensurate with experience and education level. Under general supervision, the chosen candidate will work closely with faculty, deans, senior leadership, and other stakeholders to determine and meet the logistical, operational, and programmatic needs of conferences, colloquia, dinners, receptions, and other special events. The responsibilities of this position demand a highly organized, proactive individual with the ability to juggle multiple tasks simultaneously without compromising the quality or integrity of events. Additionally, the candidate will partner with the Director on major signature events, prepare detailed event timelines and budget reports, and supervise staff and volunteers to ensure flawless event operations.

The role requires strong leadership abilities, impeccable communication skills, and a solid foundation in budget and financial management. It also calls for technical proficiency with tools such as Microsoft Office, CVENT, and Workday, which are vital for managing registration, communications, and event data. The ideal candidate must excel in a high-pressure environment, demonstrating sound judgment, tact, and an ability to work extended hours including evenings and weekends as needed to meet event requirements. The position demands physical capability for tasks like sitting, standing, walking, lifting up to 25 pounds, and handling logistical event details.

LMU prioritizes a work environment that is free from discrimination and harassment and fosters diversity and inclusion. This position embodies the university’s values by modeling ethical conduct, outstanding customer service, and interpersonal professionalism. Applications require a cover letter and resume for full consideration, and reasonable accommodations are available to candidates with disabilities.
