The Sr. Director of Business Planning and Operations is responsible for spearheading the end-to-end planning cycle, ensuring seamless integration and data-driven decision-making throughout the enterprise. Serving as the strategic lead for analytics and forecasting, this position establishes advanced quantitative methodologies that guide buying, assortment strategies, and demand forecasting. The leader in this role combines strong financial acumen with compelling communication skills to translate complex data insights into actionable strategies that influence executive decision-making. Additionally, this role oversees critical supply and order management operations, guaranteeing efficient inventory flow and product lifecycle management. Importantly, the Sr. Director acts as the principal business liaison for enterprise-wide systems implementation including the rollout of new merchandise planning software such as Blue Yonder, collaborating closely with IT teams to ensure technology solutions optimize inventory management and operational outcomes.
This role is on-site at the Northbrook office from Monday through Thursday, with flexible remote work on Fridays. The starting salary ranges from $180,000 to $225,000 annually, with potential additional compensation through bonuses, sales incentives, and long-term incentives. Job Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in retail finance, planning, or inventory management
- Minimum 5 years of team leadership experience
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or related field
- Proven leadership and coaching capabilities
- Expertise in data analysis and financial forecasting
- Experience with IT system rollouts and change management
- Ability to present complex data to executive teams clearly
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or related field
- Minimum 10 years of experience in retail finance, planning, or inventory management
- At least 5 years in a direct team leadership role
- Demonstrated success in leadership, team development, and coaching
- Deep technical knowledge of inventory management and IT systems implementation
- Strong executive communication and presentation skills
- Proven ability to manage change and drive strategic execution
Job Duties
- Present strategic plans and financial forecasts to executive leadership
- Drive enterprise forecasting to align Planning, Finance, and Supply Chain
