Job Requirements
- Valid California driver’s license
- custodial or related cleaning experience
- ability to operate pressure washers, vacuum cleaners, buffers, wet/dry vacuums, carpet shampooers and other floor care equipment
- ability to read and write English
- ability to lift and carry loads over 50 pounds
- ability to climb stairs and ladders
- availability for evening, weekend and overtime work
- ability to pass background check
- willingness to respond to after-hours emergencies and assist in disaster situations
- ability to communicate in English verbally and in writing
- must comply with University of California employment conditions including background check, vaccination policies and drug-free environment
Job Qualifications
- Custodial or related cleaning experience
- skill in operating pressure washers, vacuum cleaners, buffers, wet/dry vacuums, carpet shampooers and other floor care equipment
- ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English
- basic knowledge of cleaning chemicals
- ability to work as part of a team and lead small groups
- valid California driver’s license
- ability to promote conduct consistent with University of California Principles of Community
Job Duties
- Perform skilled and semi-skilled cleaning and housekeeping duties
- operate pressure washers, carpet extraction machines and other cleaning equipment
- maintain residence halls, apartments, common areas and exterior locations
- set up and take down special equipment and furniture
- communicate effectively in English with staff and students
- maintain security of master keys and assigned equipment
- operate motorized carts and university vehicles
