The Senior Cook is entrusted with upholding food safety standards such as HACCP guidelines, maintaining organized storage, and supporting food service associates under the guidance of the Food Service Director. Job Requirements
- Three years of previous senior cooking experience required
- Ability to work full time with flexible days and hours
- Competence in complying with federal, state, and local health regulations
- Capability to perform essential job functions with or without accommodation
- Willingness to undergo Florida Level 2 background screening if required
- Commitment to maintaining a drug-free workplace
Job Qualifications
- Minimum of three years senior cooking experience
- Proficiency in preparing nutritious and properly flavored meals
- Knowledge of food safety standards such as HACCP
- Ability to follow detailed recipes and portion control
- Experience supervising or overseeing food service associates
- Familiarity with kitchen equipment operation and sanitation
- Strong organizational skills to maintain food storage and labeling
- Capability to maintain compliance with health and safety regulations
- Competence in maintaining accurate production records
- Effective communication and teamwork skills
Job Duties
- Prepare various entrees and menu items following established recipes
- Oversee the cooking activities of food service associates as assigned
- Operate and clean kitchen equipment after each use
- Perform scheduled routine cleaning
- Store, label, and date food items according to policy
- Maintain organized storage of dry goods and refrigerated and frozen products
- Follow HACCP guidelines to ensure food quality and safety
- Comply with health and sanitation regulations and department procedures
- Assist in maintaining accurate daily production records and required documentation
- Support the cross training of employees
- Perform other duties as assigned
