Job Duties
- Direct the cooks and culinary workers on assigned shifts
- prepare all center meals within established budget allowances and pre-planned menus
- ensure compliance with government and management directives
- establish food quantities to prepare based on menu and student numbers
- coordinate with cooks and culinary workers
- instruct and supervise safe and hygienic food preparation methods
- minimize waste through efficient storage, inventory, and food utilization
- assist in preparing daily schedule and assign duties
- monitor and report work performance
- coordinate meal preparation, serving, and cleanup
- take charge of food service functions during manager absence
- manage storeroom inventory and requisition merchandise
- prepare food for special center functions and visitors
- maintain kitchen equipment and ensure a safe, clean work environment
- support CDSS activities and implement center CDSS plan
- provide positive customer service to students and staff
- participate in student employability programs
- promote and enforce Job Corps Zero Tolerance Policy
- mentor students and monitor behaviors according to Career Success Standards
- maintain accountability of students and property
- cultivate a harassment-free workplace
