This role is based on the Epic campus in Madison, WI, requiring relocation to the area, with financial relocation assistance offered to successful candidates. As a Procurement Specialist for the Culinary Department, you will play a vital role managing the sourcing and purchasing of a diverse range of items critical to Epic's food service operations. The culinary department serves approximately 12,000 meals daily to customers, staff, and visitors, featuring a dynamic menu of regional, international, and seasonal dishes. Your responsibilities will encompass procuring everything from large industrial kitchen appliances and merchandising equipment to small wares such as spatulas, whisks, and plates, as well as substantial quantities of food and consumables.
Your work will involve close collaboration with chefs and multiple internal stakeholders including catering, events, facilities, and accounting teams to fulfill evolving culinary needs tied to daily menus and expanding kitchen facilities. You will take the lead in establishing and nurturing vendor relationships that balance quality, sustainability, and cost-effectiveness, prioritizing local sourcing whenever feasible through connections with local farmers and national wholesalers. This position requires a detail-oriented, organized approach to procurement alongside excellent communication and customer service skills. Experience with Excel and Access is essential to manage data and vendor information efficiently.
