The role on offer is a position within Macquarie’s Financial Management, People and Engagement division, a sector responsible for managing the company’s financial, tax, and treasury activities, as well as fostering culture and community engagement. This role focuses on event management, supporting the delivery of a variety of event projects including client entertainment, conferences for both staff and clients, virtual and hybrid events, as well as sporting events. The role involves working with senior team members to plan and execute events using platforms such as Cvent and Zoom. Key responsibilities include venue research, pre-event planning, budget management, transportation logistics, and invoice processing. This hands-on role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced corporate environment. The position offers a competitive salary range of $70,000 to $80,000 per year, dependent on experience and location, with eligibility for annual discretionary incentive awards. Job Requirements
- 1-2 years’ experience in event marketing or a similar role
- experience in financial services or corporate environment is an advantage
- bachelor's degree in marketing, business administration or communications or minimum 3 years’ event management experience
- flexibility to work outside standard business hours
- ability to support weekend events
- willingness to travel within the US when required
- strong organization and project management skills
- ability to work effectively under pressure and manage competing priorities and deadlines
- excellent verbal and written communication skills
- proactive approach
- ability to think on your feet and solve problems
- experience using Cvent or a similar event management platform
- proficiency in Microsoft Office
- familiarity with AI tools
- advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills
Job Qualifications
- bachelor's degree in marketing, business administration or communications
- or previous experience in a similar event management role
- 1-2 years of experience in event marketing or similar role
- strong verbal and written communication skills
- proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- experience using AI tools such as ChatGPT and Copilot
- advanced excel and powerpoint skills
Job Duties
- support event delivery across in person, hybrid and virtual formats
- use Cvent or similar event management platforms and Zoom
