Sodexo is currently seeking a Senior Area Executive Chef to join their team at Cape Fear Valley Health in Fayetteville, North Carolina. Cape Fear Valley Medical Center is a trauma level III acute care hospital that features 733 licensed beds, including 78 rehabilitation beds. The hospital is part of the Cape Fear Valley Health System, which is ranked as the 8th largest health system in North Carolina. This network boasts 916 patient beds in total and serves an extensive six-county region of Southeastern North Carolina, catering to more than 935,000 patients annually.

In this pivotal role, the Senior Area Executive Chef will oversee culinary operations across six hospitals within the network. The position demands a seasoned culinary expert with a robust background in food service management and a passion for innovation in culinary arts. This role offers a unique opportunity for an experienced leader to implement Sodexo’s high culinary standards, drive menu compliance, manage purchasing, and conduct detailed food cost analysis. Additionally, the chef will forecast food production needs and play a critical role in mentoring and developing team members to embrace new culinary trends and innovations.

The Senior Area Executive Chef will be responsible for ensuring strict adherence to food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety standards across all managed sites. They will also oversee the use of automated food inventory, ordering, production, and management systems to maximize operational efficiency. The successful candidate will extend district support through training programs, catering management, and continuous development of culinary staff, helping maintain exemplary service standards.

Job Duties

  • Oversee and support 6 hospitals
  • be responsible for purchasing, menu compliance, inventory, food cost analysis and food production forecasting
  • provide district support including training, catering, development of staff, and menu compliance
  • ensure Sodexo Culinary standards including recipe compliance and food quality are implemented
  • develop and motivate team members to embrace culinary innovations
  • ensure food safety, sanitation and workplace safety standard compliance
  • have working knowledge of automated food inventory, ordering, production and management systems
