Job Description

Emerald Queen Casino is a renowned gaming and entertainment establishment located in the heart of the Puyallup Tribe's territory. As one of the premier casinos in the Pacific Northwest, Emerald Queen Casino offers a wide range of gaming options, dining experiences, and entertainment events that attract both locals and tourists. The casino operates with a strong commitment to customer service, safety, and community values, providing guests with a secure and enjoyable environment. Known for blending modern amenities with the cultural heritage of the Puyallup Tribe, Emerald Queen Casino stands as a respected employer that values diversity and adherence to tribal, state, and federal regulations.

The Security Patrol position at Emerald Queen Casino is an entry-level role crucial to maintaining the safety and security of the casino’s multiple locations, including the gaming floors, parking lots, and surrounding properties. This full-time position offers a starting wage of $22.17 per hour with a planned increase to $22.72 per hour after a successful 90-day orientation period. Moreover, employees receive excellent employer-paid benefits, including medical, dental, vision, and life insurance.

In this role, security personnel are responsible for walking the perimeter of the casinos, parking garages, and lots to deter and report any suspicious activities or safety hazards. The role requires vigilance and a proactive approach to safeguarding the property assets, ensuring compliance with casino policies, fire inspection protocols, and tribal and state gaming regulations. Candidates must possess strong observation skills, attention to detail, and the ability to maintain confidentiality while upholding professionalism in high-pressure situations.

Security Patrol officers also serve as frontline ambassadors who interact with guests and employees, delivering superior customer service while promoting positive employee relations. The position demands proficiency in radio communication etiquette, basic report writing, crowd management, and incident documentation to contribute to the effective operation of the security department. Additional duties may be assigned by the department manager, requiring flexibility and a willingness to adapt to changing operational needs.

This role involves physical demands, including the ability to lift up to 75 pounds, climb stairs routinely, and remain standing and walking for extended periods in various environmental conditions, such as loud, smoke-filled areas and inclement weather. Applicants must be prepared to work all scheduled shifts, including days, swing, graveyard, and holidays.

The position requires candidates to obtain a Class III A license as mandated by the Puyallup Tribal Gaming Regulatory Office and the Washington State Gaming Commission. Pre-employment drug testing is a prerequisite; however, the use of marijuana will not disqualify an applicant unless the role involves driving a company vehicle. Emerald Queen Casino is an Equal Opportunity Employer with Indian Preference hiring policies aligned with the Puyallup Tribe’s standards. This opportunity is ideal for individuals seeking a rewarding career in casino security with opportunities for growth and development within a respected tribal gaming enterprise.
