Job Description

Denali Universal Services (DUS) is a reputable provider of security services known for delivering reliable and professional protection across various industries. At its core, DUS operates with a strong commitment to safety, integrity, and excellence, serving clients in complex environments such as refineries, petrochemical plants, and other industrial settings where security is paramount. As a company, DUS emphasizes compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and operational procedures, ensuring that the services provided not only meet but exceed industry standards. Established with a focus on client satisfaction and operational excellence, DUS fosters a workplace culture built on respect, professionalism, and a commitment to continuous improvement. The company offers a range of benefits to its full-time employees, including health insurance, life insurance, 401k retirement plans, short-term disability insurance, access to employee assistance programs, and paid time off, reflecting its dedication to employee well-being and career development.

The role of Security Captain at Denali Universal Services is a pivotal leadership position responsible for overseeing the effective deployment of security personnel and the seamless execution of security operations at assigned job sites. Reporting directly to the Security Director, this position requires managing a medium-sized team while ensuring compliance with contract specifications, company policies, and client requirements. The Security Captain is tasked with key responsibilities such as workforce management, scheduling, payroll administration, and maintaining direct communication with clients to address daily operational matters. The role demands a hands-on leader who can implement and sustain quality assurance programs, enforce security protocols, and serve as a subject matter expert to both the client and internal teams.

Beyond standard supervisory duties, the Security Captain coordinates security services based on facility security plans, manages incident investigations, and handles escalated emergency situations efficiently and calmly. This position also involves mentoring and developing the security workforce through coaching, training, and continuous performance management to achieve high operational standards. The Security Captain plays an integral part in fostering a safe and respectful workplace environment, free from harassment and favoritism. Candidates must demonstrate strong decision-making, problem-solving abilities, excellent communication skills, and proficiency in computer usage including Microsoft Office applications. Valid driver’s license and necessary security licensing such as an unarmed security officer license are required, with some locations requiring additional credentials such as a TWIC card. This role typically involves working in dynamic, sometimes high-pressure settings around industrial facilities, necessitating a constant state of alertness and physical capability to perform routine tasks such as walking, standing, and carrying weight up to 50 pounds.

Denali Universal Services is dedicated to equal employment opportunity and reasonable accommodation, supporting diversity and inclusion within its workforce. This position provides a challenging yet rewarding career path for experienced security professionals seeking to lead in a structured and high-quality service environment while enjoying comprehensive employee benefits and a collaborative work culture.
