The Banquet Server position at Diablo Country Club is a critical role within the Food and Beverage department aimed at delivering exceptional service during special events and banquets hosted at the club. This non-exempt role reports directly to the Banquet Manager and involves working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment where attention to detail is paramount. Banquet Servers are responsible for assisting in the setup of banquet rooms, including arranging tables, placing settings, and ensuring decorations align with event specifications. They also attend pre-event meetings to familiarize themselves with event details and service expectations to ensure a seamless execution.
During events, Banquet Servers greet and guide guests to their assigned seating, serve food and beverages efficiently and professionally while adhering to established service standards and strict timelines, and anticipate guest needs to guarantee satisfaction throughout the event. Communication with kitchen and bar staff is essential to maintain accuracy and timeliness in service delivery. Additionally, they are tasked with maintaining cleanliness and organization during events, promptly clearing tables, replenishing service items, and assisting with the breakdown and cleanup after functions conclude. Job Requirements
- Minimum of one year of experience as a server in a high-volume upscale dining or banquet setting
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a genuine passion for providing exceptional service
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and maintain a professional demeanor under pressure
- Knowledge of proper food service techniques and etiquette
- Flexibility to work varying shifts including evenings weekends and holidays
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid food handler's certification
