The position of General Store Barista at Cheyenne Mountain Resort involves providing exceptional service in the resort’s grab-and-go store located within the Main Lodge. This role is integral in ensuring guest satisfaction by preparing and serving handcrafted beverages, including brewed coffee and specialty drinks, in strict accordance with menu standards. The Barista also manages the preparation and service of grab-and-go food items, maintaining quality and safety standards at all times. Responsibilities include greeting guests with a warm and approachable demeanor, answering questions, and offering personalized recommendations to enhance the guest experience.

The Barista is also responsible for the operational aspects of the store, such as handling cash and point-of-sale transactions with accuracy, restocking supplies, and maintaining cleanliness and organization within the market area. They must monitor inventory levels and coordinate restocking needs with leadership to ensure smooth operations. Attention to detail and the ability to provide friendly, efficient service during peak hours are critical. This position requires flexibility, including availability on weekends and holidays, making it suitable for individuals who thrive in a fast-paced, guest-focused environment. Training is provided, making this position accessible even to those without prior barista experience who possess strong customer service skills and a passion for hospitality.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
  • Basic math skills for cash handling
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks related to the job
  • Willingness to learn and accept training on beverage preparation and POS system
  • Must comply with food safety and hygiene standards

Job Qualifications

  • Previous barista or coffee shop experience preferred but not required training provided
  • Strong guest service skills and a warm, approachable demeanor
  • Ability to multitask and remain calm in a fast-paced environment
