The role offered is a full-time, non-management position at The Resort at Pelican Hill, focused on food and beverage culinary services with a competitive pay rate of $30.00 per hour. This culinary role involves preparing special meals, monitoring cooking temperatures, ensuring food quality and presentation adhere to established standards, and maintaining accurate food records. The individual will play a critical role in facilitating kitchen operations by assisting with thawing frozen items, portion control, and communicating effectively with kitchen and food service staff to ensure smooth workflow during peak hours. Responsibilities also include assisting management with employee hiring, training, scheduling, evaluation, and motivation, fostering a team environment that meets quality and service expectations consistently. Job Duties
- Prepare special meals or substitute products as needed
- regulate oven, grill, and rotisserie temperatures
- remove foods from the freezer for thawing in the refrigerator
- ensure proper portioning, plating, and garnishing of food
- maintain food records
- monitor the quality and quantity of prepared food
- communicate assistance needs during high workload periods
- inform the chef of excess food products for daily specials
- notify Food and Beverage service staff about rejected products and available specials
- ensure the quality of food products
- prepare and cook food according to recipes, quality standards, presentation standards, and food preparation checklists
- prepare cold dishes
- assist management with hiring, training, scheduling, evaluation, counseling, discipline, motivation, and employee training
- uphold all safety policies and company procedures
- report accidents, injuries, and unsafe working conditions to management
- participate in safety training and acquire safety certifications
- maintain a clean and professional appearance
- protect proprietary information and company property
- anticipate guest service needs and fulfill them
- communicate clearly and professionally with others
- foster positive working relationships and support the team to achieve common goals
- listen and respond appropriately to coworkers’ concerns
