Job Description

The Tasting Room Concierge position is an integral role within a dynamic hospitality environment, focused primarily on delivering an exceptional guest experience from the moment visitors arrive until they depart. This position is commonly found within esteemed establishments specializing in wine tastings, luxury hospitality, and customer-centered experiences, such as wineries, tasting rooms, or upscale beverage companies. The Concierge serves as the very first point of contact for guests, tasked with creating a warm and polished welcome that sets the tone for a memorable visit. Employing a combination of professionalism, attention to detail, and warm hospitality, the Concierge ensures that every guest feels valued and cared for throughout their tasting journey.

This role is essential in managing the flow of guests, including reservations, waitlists, seating arrangements, and coordination of experiences within the tasting venue. By efficiently managing all aspects of guest arrival and seating, the Concierge contributes significantly to maintaining a seamless operation, optimizing guest satisfaction and minimizing wait times even during high-volume periods. This requires outstanding organizational skills, the ability to multitask, and remain composed under pressure. Working closely with tasting room associates and leadership teams, the Concierge aligns with service priorities and guest needs to create personalized and elevated experiences.

A deep understanding of the tasting room's offerings—including the varieties of wine or beverages available, pricing, and unique experiences—is crucial for effectively communicating options to guests and assisting them in selecting experiences tailored to their preferences. The Concierge also builds relationships with guests to encourage repeat visits and ensure positive outcomes by addressing inquiries, special requests, and any concerns promptly and professionally.

Due to the nature of the hospitality industry, this role requires flexibility with work schedules, including availability to work weekends, primarily Friday through Sunday, and occasionally holidays, evenings, and special events. The physical demands of the position include frequent standing and walking, handling supplies such as wine cases and glassware, and occasionally performing repetitive tasks necessary for the smooth operation of the tasting room. Exposure to variable environmental conditions—such as indoor and outdoor temperatures, noise, and crowds—is part of the daily experience.

Compensation for this role ranges from $21.15 to $25.00 per hour, dependent on experience, skills, role scope, and business needs. Employees in this role are also eligible to participate in incentive pay programs based on site performance and may receive tips, although tips vary widely and are not guaranteed. The establishment actively promotes an inclusive hiring process, welcoming applicants regardless of age, race, color, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, or disability status.

In summary, the Tasting Room Concierge plays a pivotal role in ensuring every guest receives luxury hospitality marked by professionalism, warmth, and efficiency. This role offers a rewarding opportunity for those passionate about hospitality, customer service, and the wine or tasting room industry, seeking to contribute to a distinguished company's success by fostering memorable guest experiences.
