Job Description
The Luxury Collection Hotels & Resorts is a prestigious brand under Marriott International, boasting over 120 luxury hotels across more than 35 countries worldwide. With a rich history dating back to 1906 through its roots in the Italian brand CIGA — a collection of Europe’s most iconic and celebrated hotels — The Luxury Collection embodies a tradition of excellence and authentic storytelling. This collection of hotels and resorts offers unparalleled experiences that evoke lasting and cherished memories, ranging from legendary palaces and remote retreats to timeless modern classics. Each property uniquely reflects the cultural treasures and distinctive character of its location, offering guests an immersive and personalized luxury travel experience.
As part of Marriott International, one of the largest and most respected hospitality companies globally, The Luxury Collection is committed to celebrating diversity, promoting inclusivity, and providing equal employment opportunities. The organization's strength lies in its extraordinary fusion of cultures, talents, and varied experiences among its associates. Their dedication to non-discrimination ensures that all qualified candidates, including those with criminal backgrounds where applicable, are given fair consideration. Marriott also actively supports workplace accessibility and accommodates individuals with disabilities and protected veterans, creating a welcoming environment for all.
This particular position is a seasonal, full-time, non-management role located in Los Angeles, California, at the prestigious address of 465 S La Cienega Blvd. The role offers an hourly wage of $21.90 and is tip-eligible, recognizing the vital contribution of service staff to the guest experience. The role centers on providing professional, courteous, and efficient food and beverage service to all guests. Responsibilities include setting and clearing tables, serving essentials such as water, bread, and coffee, and greeting guests by name when possible to foster a personalized and warm atmosphere throughout meal service.
In addition to guest interaction, the role requires the maintenance of cleanliness and order in the dining areas, ensuring the preparation and storage of reusable items, proper handling of equipment, securing refrigeration units, and completing daily cleaning checklists. The position demands adherence to company policies and safety protocols to create a safe and hygienic working environment. Attention to detail is paramount, with rigorous inspection of all porcelain, glassware, and silverware prior to use, and ongoing cleaning during shifts to uphold health and safety standards.
Physical demands include the ability to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods, lift and transport objects weighing up to 50 pounds, and navigate various service environment terrains such as stairs, ramps, and slippery or uneven surfaces. The candidate must demonstrate excellent communication skills, professionalism in appearance and demeanor, and a team-oriented attitude, supporting colleagues and contributing positively to team goals.
Joining The Luxury Collection Hotels & Resorts means becoming part of a global, dynamic team committed to delivering exceptional hospitality that exceeds guest expectations. Associates are empowered to perform their best work while fulfilling a meaningful purpose. The role offers a unique opportunity to grow professionally within a celebrated luxury brand backed by Marriott's robust global network. If you have a passion for genuine hospitality, cultural heritage, and exceptional service, this role provides a platform to thrive and develop your career in the prestigious hospitality industry.
