Job Description
Pyramid Global Hospitality is a renowned leader in the hospitality industry, dedicated to a People First culture where employees are valued above all. With over 230 properties worldwide, the company prides itself on fostering a supportive and inclusive work environment that champions diversity, growth, development, and wellbeing. Pyramid Global Hospitality offers comprehensive employee benefits such as health insurance, retirement plans, paid time off, on-site wellness programs, local discounts, and preferential rates on hotel stays. This commitment to employee satisfaction and professional development translates into a workplace where individuals can thrive, build meaningful relationships, and advance their careers through ongoing training and learning opportunities.
Among Pyramid Global Hospitality's distinguished properties is The Phelps, the #1 hotel in Cincinnati, known not only for its boutique accommodations in the historic Phelps Building and unique amenities like a rooftop restaurant and terrace, but also because of its exceptional team members. The Phelps features 134 guest rooms and over 5,000 square feet of event space, providing a dynamic and vibrant environment for both guests and staff. The hotel attributes its success to the talent, dedication, and outstanding service provided by its team, making it an exceptional place to build a career in hospitality.
The role available is for a Bartender at The Phelps, a position that demands a high level of motivation and customer focus. The Bartender is entrusted with delivering memorable hospitality experiences by making genuine and personable connections with guests, ensuring engaging service from the moment they arrive until their departure. This role requires an individual who is quick on their feet, attentive, and able to anticipate and meet guest needs while preparing quality beverages efficiently. The Bartender will guide guests through their beverage choices with detailed and descriptive selling of the menu items, ensuring accuracy and attention to special requests.
Working at The Phelps as a Bartender means collaborating closely with restaurant servers and kitchen/bar staff to offer seamless and enjoyable service. Responsibilities include maintaining the bar’s setup and stock, handling fresh garnishes and perishables, mixing drinks according to standard recipes with proper portion control, and managing transactions responsibly. A key part of this role is resolving any guest concerns promptly and ensuring the final bill presentation is accurate and timely.
Candidates who thrive in fast-paced, high-pressure environments, possess a passion for creating exceptional guest experiences, and demonstrate excellent communication skills will find this opportunity rewarding. The position requires current bartender certification or an appropriate license, knowledge of wine, beer, cocktails, spirits, and an understanding of recent mixology trends. With 2-4 years of bartender experience preferred, this role offers a chance to grow professionally within a world-class hospitality operation that truly values its people and their contributions.
The Bartender position at The Phelps with Pyramid Global Hospitality offers a competitive hourly wage starting at $10.00, with compensation reflecting individual skills, experience, certifications, and location-specific factors. Pyramid Global Hospitality is an equal opportunity employer, committed to diversity and inclusion, making it an excellent choice for hospitality professionals eager to join a company that prioritizes employee wellbeing and guest satisfaction.
