The role available is a full-time Cook position at Southland Casino, offering a wage between $16.00 and $17.00 per hour. Job Requirements
- At least 1 year of previous experience in a back-of-the-house foodservice position
- Ability to read and comprehend prep sheets and recipes
- Basic math skills with the ability to calculate and follow recipe measurements
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs or more, reach up to seven feet, bend, and squat
- Ability to stand and walk for the entire shift in moderate to high noise levels
- Manual ability to chop, mix, blend, whip a variety of foods and liquids and operate kitchen equipment
- Exposure to variable temperatures
Job Qualifications

Job Duties
- Prepare food to comply with all portion sizes, quality standards, department rules, policies, and procedures
- Ensure proper food temperatures are maintained
- Store food correctly
- Maintain freshness and quality of all menu items
- Package all products to proper specifications
- Keep workstations, coolers, and equipment clean, organized, sanitized, and sufficiently stocked
- Use waste control guidelines and record all waste on the spoilage sheet
- Perform opening, closing, and side work duties
- Conduct end-of-day inventory
