Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or high school diploma or GED with at least 4 years customer service experience
  • Ability to read and analyze business periodicals, professional journals and technical procedures
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions
  • Ability to calculate figures such as discounts, interest, proportions, percentages, area, mass and volume
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential information
  • Commitment to company values and strong customer focus
  • Computer literacy
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs frequently
  • Ability to work in cold/freezing temperatures
  • Ability to work with motion equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks
  • Ability to stand and walk constantly
  • Ability to perform occasional physical activities like bending, twisting, kneeling and climbing steps or ladders.

Job Duties

  • Ensure proper customer service and develop relationships with large customers
  • Supervise all activities in the Seafood Department including product placement, rotation, signage, and displays
  • Maintain department appearance, cleanliness, and compliance with government and corporate ordinances
  • Develop schedules, monitor staff performance, and recommend discipline as needed
  • Train employees in job responsibilities and safe operating procedures
  • Interview and recommend candidates for hire
  • Discipline employees when necessary and recommend terminations
  • Ensure employees conduct proper inspections to meet HACCP regulations and perform periodic HACCP audits
  • Review inventory for product rotation to prevent shrinkage and damages
  • Verify shelf pricing accuracy and update based on market conditions
  • Supervise receiving of seafood products and ensure proper paperwork completion
  • Maintain accurate inventory levels through regular physical counts and adjustments
  • Oversee maintenance of refrigerated equipment including contracts and schedules
  • Manage ordering of seafood products to maintain competitive pricing and reduce spoilage
  • Ensure employees are trained in equipment use such as Toledo scale and Dennison label machine
  • Coordinate proper tagging of pallets with block and date information
  • Maintain cleanliness of the department through scheduled maintenance
  • Manage storage and organization of excess inventory
  • Ensure proper removal and handling of trash
  • Communicate low stock and out-of-stock information to Inventory Controller
  • Keep signage accurate and reflective of flyer prices
  • Plan and execute merchandising strategies for aisles and impulse areas
  • Perform weekly departmental self audits
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
