Job Description
The Gardner School of Chelmsford is a compassionate and dedicated early childhood education establishment committed to nurturing young minds in a safe, innovative, and supportive environment. Known for its state-of-the-art facilities and focus on holistic development, The Gardner School emphasizes the importance of love and care in every aspect of learning. Our mission is to empower children, families, and staff by providing a nurturing atmosphere where passion for teaching and making a meaningful difference in the community is evident in our daily operations. We are proud to foster a culture where every employee’s ideas are valued, and continuous growth and impact are central. This distinct environment makes us a premier choice for educators, caregivers, and support staff who seek a rewarding career in early childhood education.
We are excited to offer an opportunity to join our team as a School Kitchen Staff member. This role is essential in maintaining the health and well-being of our students by ensuring nutritious, safe, and timely meal preparation and service. As part of our dedicated kitchen team, you will work in our advanced kitchen facility, supporting a menu designed to meet dietary requirements and preferences while adhering to strict safety and sanitation standards. The role combines culinary skills with a genuine desire to contribute to a positive educational environment. The pay range for this position is $17.21 to $20.25 per hour, based on experience and qualifications. Our employment package includes comprehensive benefits such as medical, dental, and vision insurance options tailored to meet individual needs, a 401k retirement plan with employer match, childcare tuition discounts, paid time off including holidays and birthdays, and a work schedule that avoids late nights and weekends.
As a School Kitchen Staff member, your responsibilities will extend beyond meal preparation. You will coordinate closely with the school director to confirm weekly menus and ensure that all food served aligns with budgetary guidelines. Inventory management, ordering supplies, and maintaining a well-organized kitchen environment are key components of the role. Food safety and sanitation compliance are critical elements, as is providing occasional assistance in classroom and other school areas. This dynamic position requires someone passionate about food service and the educational mission of The Gardner School, with a strong commitment to reliability and teamwork. We welcome individuals who bring a keen focus on dietary allergies, high standards of kitchen cleanliness, and a respectful, customer-focused attitude to our community.
