ABM prides itself on delivering forward-looking performance solutions that enhance the spaces and places that matter most, from commercial office buildings and educational institutions to airports, hospitals, manufacturing plants, and entertainment venues.

This particular opportunity is for the position of a School Custodian. The role is situated within a K-12 school, college, or university campus environment, providing essential cleaning and maintenance services to ensure a safe, clean, and welcoming facility for students, faculty, and visitors. This position is ideal for individuals just entering the workforce or those returning to the workforce with limited experience and education. Furthermore, ABM is recognized as a military- and veteran-friendly employer, encouraging candidates with military experience to apply and benefit from the comprehensive training and career advancement opportunities available.

The School Custodian will be responsible for cleaning and maintaining assigned areas such as classrooms, hallways, restrooms, locker rooms, offices, and stairways. Duties involve sweeping, mopping floors, removing debris, cleaning spills, and emptying trash receptacles regularly. Additionally, custodians follow safety procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment to avoid damage to floors and fixtures. The role requires effective communication and collaboration with clients, co-workers, and supervisors to address maintenance needs, including reporting minor or major repairs. Custodians also participate in recycling efforts by separating materials into proper receptacles and perform seasonal outdoor maintenance tasks like raking leaves or removing snow when required.

This employment type is full-time or part-time, with ABM providing a comprehensive benefits package designed to support employee well-being and job satisfaction. Benefits details are accessible through ABM’s Employee Benefits portal for frontline team members. ABM’s commitment to diversity and inclusion is evident in its status as an Equal Opportunity Employer, welcoming applicants of all backgrounds and providing reasonable accommodations for individuals with disabilities.
