The SCA Cook II position at Sodexo is based at the San Jose Job Corps location, offering a full-time employment opportunity with a competitive pay rate of $27.00 per hour. This role is crucial in Sodexo's mission to provide nutritious and delicious meals while maintaining high standards of customer service and food waste reduction. As a SCA Cook II, you will be part of a dedicated team responsible for preparing large quantities of food using various cooking methods, including roasting, boiling, steaming, frying, and baking. You will handle all cuts of meat, poultry, fish, and vegetables, skillfully preparing dishes such as gravies, soups, sauces, casseroles, and more.

In addition to cooking responsibilities, punctuality and reliability are essential, with regular attendance for scheduled shifts being a core expectation. The workdays and shifts for this position are varied, and specific details will be provided during the interview process, allowing for flexibility to meet business needs. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of three years related cooking experience
  • Ability to follow health and safety guidelines
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality
  • Ability to work varied shifts
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills
  • Physical stamina to perform cooking duties

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Prepare large quantities of meat, poultry, fish, and vegetables by various cooking methods
  • Season and cook all cuts of meats, fish, and poultry
  • Boil, steam, or fry vegetables
  • Make gravies, soups, sauces, roasts, meat pies, fricassees, casseroles, and stews
  • Attend work and show for scheduled shift on time with satisfactory regularity
  • Perform other duties as assigned depending on business necessities and client requirements
