This particular opportunity is a part-time hourly position located at Sawmill Market in Albuquerque, home to five different kitchens including Mercantile Café, Flora Taco, Fish n' Chips, and Red and Green New Mexican Food. The position offers a competitive hourly wage ranging from $17.00 to $21.00, depending on experience, in addition to valuable benefits such as dental, vision, and 401k plans for part-time employees. The role is designed for individuals passionate about culinary arts and who enjoy working in fast-paced, team-oriented kitchen environments. Employees work under the guidance of Executive or Sous Chefs to prepare and cook menu items, ensuring every dish meets high standards of quality and timeliness. The position requires a hands-on approach to food preparation including chopping vegetables, butchering meats, preparing sauces, and collaborating closely with kitchen team members to guarantee synchronized food service. Maintaining a professional and positive attitude while communicating effectively with kitchen leadership and coworkers is crucial to success in this role.

Job Duties

  • Work in one of the Sawmill Market kitchens

  • comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards at all times
  • set up, break down, and stock stations with all necessary supplies
  • prepare food for service, such as chopping vegetables, butchering meat, or preparing sauces
  • cook menu items in collaboration with other kitchen team members
  • ensure that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality and in a timely fashion
  • perform other duties as assigned consistent with the functions of this position as needed at the property
