Job Description

Snowbird is a renowned resort nestled in the heart of the Wasatch Mountain Range in Salt Lake City, Utah. This premier resort is celebrated for its breathtaking natural beauty, featuring awe-inspiring mountain views and challenging terrain that attracts outdoor enthusiasts year-round. Snowbird is more than just a destination for visitors; it is a community that values and supports its employees, who share a deep passion for the mountains and outdoor activities. The resort operates distinct summer and winter seasons, offering a variety of employment opportunities including full-time, part-time, and seasonal positions to accommodate a diverse workforce.

The role of Saturday Housekeeper at the Iron Blosam Lodge at Snowbird is a unique opportunity for individuals who enjoy working in a dynamic and scenic environment. This part-time, year-round position specifically requires availability on Saturdays from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, or until the assigned work is completed. Employees in this role are compensated at a base rate of $13 per hour, with an additional piece-rate pay per room cleaned, typically averaging between $15 to $18 per hour. Beyond competitive pay, Snowbird offers a range of benefits, including a complimentary season pass, which allows employees to enjoy the outdoor activities and amenities that the resort has to offer.

As a Saturday Housekeeper, your primary responsibility is to maintain cleanliness and ensure the comfort of guests by performing a variety of cleaning tasks within time-share condominiums. These duties include dusting furniture, vacuuming, making beds, cleaning mirrors, scrubbing toilets, showers, sinks, and floors, as well as emptying trash and picking up litter. The position demands attention to detail, physical stamina, and a consistent commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness. The housekeeping team operates under the guidance of a director or supervisor, with occasional tasks such as sorting, washing, and folding linens, and keeping housekeeping closets organized.

Working at Snowbird offers more than just a job; it provides an opportunity to be part of a vibrant community that values teamwork, positivity, and a love of the outdoors. The role requires reliability, punctuality, and strong communication skills, including conflict management and dispute resolution abilities. Candidates must demonstrate basic competency in English, arithmetic, and interpersonal relations to effectively engage with coworkers and guests. The position also emphasizes independence and problem-solving skills, with employees expected to work efficiently with minimal supervision and exercise good judgment within established policy guidelines.

The physical demands of the job include lifting items weighing between 20 to 50 pounds, standing and walking for extended periods, and performing repetitive motions such as bending, kneeling, and reaching. Employees must prepare to work under varying weather conditions, including potential overnight stays during road closures, and be able to make quick decisions amidst high occupancy and busy resort environments. Snowbird is committed to providing a safe and supportive workplace, acknowledging that housekeeping staff play a vital role in delivering exceptional guest experiences.

Snowbird prides itself on being an equal-opportunity employer. The company promotes diversity of thought, background, race, sexual orientation, gender, and belief, fostering an inclusive culture free from discrimination and harassment. The resort encourages candidates passionate about outdoor recreation to explore employment opportunities that range from seasonal to year-round roles, all within a friendly environment that offers excellent benefits and discounts. If you are motivated by the opportunity to work in a beautiful mountain setting and contribute to memorable guest stays, the Saturday Housekeeper position at Snowbird is an ideal fit.
