The role of Sanitation Technician holds a vital position within the Bottling and Sanitation team. This position entails a broad range of responsibilities centered around maintaining impeccable sanitation standards across equipment such as dosing units, pumps, hoses, and transfer lines before, during, and after production runs. The technician must handle chemicals safely using appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and execute daily sanitation procedures including washing, sanitizing, and performing technical checks such as swab and bubble point inspections. Accurate sanitation record-keeping is crucial to support compliance and quality assurance.

In addition to sanitation duties, the technician plays a supportive role in bottling operations. This includes assisting filler operators with wine handling, managing end-of-production clean-up tasks, and participating in mechanical clean-up activities. The role may also involve supplemental tasks such as loading bottles onto dump tables, hand-packing bottles into cases at line speeds, reworking products according to specifications, and applying stickers to cartons. The technician is expected to maintain excellent communication and time-management skills to promptly respond to radio communications and collaborate effectively with team members.

Physical demands of the position are significant, requiring prolonged standing and walking, frequent lifting of up to 50 pounds, and performing various physical activities like pushing, pulling, bending, stooping, kneeling, climbing, twisting, and reaching overhead. The role demands flexibility to adjust schedules on short notice and a capacity to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

Candidates for this position should be self-motivated, proactive, and capable of multitasking while maintaining a strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Familiarity with good manufacturing practices (GMPs) and experience in manufacturing or cellar/bottling operations is preferred, although not mandatory.
