Job Description
Kalahari Resorts & Conventions is a premier hospitality and entertainment company known for its distinctive African-themed resorts that boast America’s largest indoor waterparks. Established as a leader in the resort and convention center industry, Kalahari offers guests an unparalleled vacation experience combining luxurious accommodations, world-class dining, rejuvenating spas, exciting entertainment options, and state-of-the-art meeting facilities. These resorts attract visitors from across the nation seeking both leisure and business travel amenities, offering a unique blend of relaxation and vibrant activity in a family-friendly environment.
As a family-owned enterprise, Kalahari Resorts & Conventions embraces the philosophy of "Lead with Love," a core value that emphasizes sincere care for guests, associates, and the local community. This guiding principle fosters a welcoming atmosphere where every individual is respected and valued, while also encouraging associates to contribute generously to the community. Kalahari’s commitment extends beyond hospitality through its partnership with charity: water, aiming to provide clean water to one million people in Africa. This dedication to social responsibility reflects the company’s broader mission to create positive impact both locally and globally.
The Sales Manager role based at the Kalahari Resort & Convention Center in Round Rock, Texas, is an integral part of the resort’s growth and success. The position is primarily responsible for developing and maintaining accounts within assigned market segments through proactive direct sales efforts. As a crucial member of the sales team, the Sales Manager will drive revenue growth by identifying new business opportunities, nurturing existing client relationships, and ensuring the achievement of financial goals surpassing budgeted targets. This encompasses engaging with prospective clients, negotiating contracts, and coordinating with internal teams to deliver seamless service that aligns with the signature Kalahari experience.
A successful candidate will leverage a minimum of five years of sales experience within large-scale hotel or resort settings, preferably with properties boasting 500 or more guest rooms and extensive meeting facilities. The role demands strong negotiation skills, excellent communication, and a strategic approach to business development. Familiarity with the greater Austin market and established relationships with key accounts are highly desirable, positioning the Sales Manager to capitalize on local opportunities effectively. Independence, self-motivation, and a results-driven attitude are essential traits for navigating a competitive marketplace and achieving sales targets.
Kalahari Resorts & Conventions offers a comprehensive benefits package designed to support career growth and employee well-being. The company promotes a culture of internal advancement, providing clear pathways for professional development. Full-time employees benefit from health, dental, and vision coverage, along with a 401(k) matching program, paid time off, holiday compensation, and various employee appreciation initiatives. Additionally, education assistance programs are available to help associates continue expanding their skills and knowledge.
Recognized by Forbes as one of America’s Best Midsize Employers and America’s Best Employers for Women, and honored by USA TODAY as the number one Best Indoor Water Park, Kalahari is renowned for its industry leadership and commitment to excellence. Joining Kalahari means becoming part of an extraordinary team where innovation thrives, impactful work is celebrated, and every day offers the chance to create lasting memories for guests and colleagues alike. If you are passionate about hospitality and eager to grow your career within a respected and forward-thinking organization, the Sales Manager position at Kalahari Resorts & Conventions in Round Rock is an exceptional opportunity to contribute to a distinctive brand that truly embodies the spirit of "leading with love."
