Job Description
Waygate Technologies is the global leader in non-destructive testing (NDT) solutions, offering the broadest portfolio of industrial inspection technologies. As part of Baker Hughes, a century-strong energy technology company operating in over 120 countries, Waygate Technologies specializes in advanced methods such as radiography, computed tomography (CT), remote visual inspection, ultrasound, and eddy current technologies. These solutions are critical for ensuring safety, quality, and productivity across major industries worldwide including aerospace, automotive, electronics, battery manufacturing, energy, research, and industrial manufacturing. With a commitment to innovation and progress, Waygate Technologies drives the future of industrial inspection by delivering cutting-edge hardware, software, services, and aftermarket solutions tailored for complex industrial applications.
The Sales Director, Americas role at Waygate Technologies is a senior leadership position responsible for spearheading profitable growth and expanding market share for the Industrial Computed Tomography (CT) portfolio across North and Latin America. This comprehensive portfolio covers a wide range of offerings including equipment, software, services, and aftermarket solutions. Reporting to the Global Sales Director, this role leads a multidisciplinary team comprised of Sales Managers and Application Engineers devoted to cultivating strategic customer relationships, managing technically complex sales cycles, and achieving long-term revenue sustainability.
This position requires a dynamic individual with a strong blend of commercial leadership, technical acumen, strategic account management capabilities, and proven organizational leadership skills. The Sales Director plays a pivotal role in driving the regional sales strategy, executing annual order and revenue goals, and leading strategic account planning efforts for key sectors such as aerospace, automotive, electronics, battery manufacturing, energy, and more. With a focus on customer-centric solution selling, the Sales Director must skillfully integrate hardware, software, and service offerings to differentiate Waygate’s Industrial CT solutions from competitive alternatives.
In addition to commercial leadership, the role demands close collaboration with application engineering teams to ensure alignment and convert application studies into viable commercial opportunities. The Sales Director is also responsible for overseeing regional forecasting, business reviews, market trend analysis, and providing valuable market insights to guide product roadmap and innovation initiatives. By partnering cross-functionally with departments like Product Management, Engineering, Service, Operations, and Marketing, the Sales Director helps shape the future direction and competitiveness of the Industrial CT portfolio.
People leadership is a critical component of this role. Recruiting, developing, and retaining high-performing commercial and technical talent is essential to building a culture of accountability, customer focus, collaboration, and continuous improvement. The Sales Director mentors and coaches Sales Managers and Application Engineers through regular performance reviews and professional development planning, fostering a cohesive team that drives commercial excellence.
Working within Baker Hughes provides the Sales Director with comprehensive benefits and well-being programs such as private medical care, life insurance, disability programs, education assistance, mental health resources, parental leave, and flexible work-life balance policies. This role demands extensive travel throughout North and Latin America and requires fluency in English. Eligibility to work in the country of employment without sponsorship is mandatory. This position offers the opportunity to make a substantial impact within a leading energy and industrial technology company devoted to innovation, safety, and sustainability.
