Job Description
Mitchell Selig Ford is a reputable automotive dealership committed to providing exceptional customer service and high-quality vehicles to its community. As a well-established dealership known for its integrity and customer-focused approach, Mitchell Selig Ford has built a strong reputation in the region for offering a wide selection of new and used vehicles, reliable maintenance services, and a friendly purchasing experience. The dealership prides itself on employing a dedicated team of professionals who are passionate about automobiles and customer satisfaction. Whether it is assisting customers in choosing the perfect car or ensuring that the vehicle inventory is maintained to the highest standards, Mitchell Selig Ford focuses on delivering excellence at every touchpoint.
The Sales Department at Mitchell Selig Ford is seeking a multi-talented Lot Porter / Attendant / Driver to join their dynamic team. This role is essential to the smooth operation of the dealership’s sales lot and overall sales process. The employee hired will be responsible for assisting the sales team with daily operational support to help the business run efficiently. This position involves organizing the sales inventory lot by stocking vehicles, ensuring they are properly fueled, and maintaining the overall layout and cleanliness of the lot. Additionally, the role requires moving and arranging vehicles to optimize space and presentation on the lot.
A critical aspect of this position includes helping with pick-up and drop-off services for customers and vehicles, which requires strong driving skills and reliable transportation awareness. The lot porter will ensure that all vehicles are retail-ready every day by preparing used vehicles with buyer’s guides, placing certified pre-owned (CPO) guides and flags on CPO vehicles, and making sure new vehicles are equipped with window stickers. The job also involves coordinating vehicle transfers by picking up new vehicles from other Ford dealerships to supplement inventory and retrieving purchased used vehicles to bring them back to the dealership.
This position requires someone who is comfortable working outdoors regardless of weather conditions such as heat, cold, or snow, as the role demands spending significant time outside. The work environment is fast-paced and physically active, requiring the individual to be on their feet for most of the day and maintaining stamina throughout the 40-hour work week. The lot porter also collaborates closely with the sales team and management to support company goals and contribute positively to the dealership’s mission and vision.
Mitchell Selig Ford values self-leadership and teamwork, expecting the lot porter to take initiative in their duties while facilitating a cooperative work environment. Additional responsibilities include removing vehicle protective coverings and ID tags before parking vehicles on the lot, assisting managers when needed, and representing the dealership’s standards of professionalism and customer service. The work schedule for this role is Monday through Friday from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM with a 30-minute lunch break, offering a stable weekday routine.
This role provides an excellent opportunity for individuals who are passionate about cars, enjoy a variety of responsibilities, and thrive in an active, team-oriented work environment. Mitchell Selig Ford is proud to be an equal opportunity employer that values diversity and inclusion, providing a supportive workplace for all employees.
