Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 1-3 months related experience and/or training or equivalent combinations of education and experience
  • Current California Food Handlers Card
  • Ability to comprehend simple instructions and understand measurements
  • Able to read recipes
  • Ability to speak and understand English both written and verbally
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions
  • Must be able to lift, pull and push up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to stand for long periods and occasionally stoop, kneel or crouch
  • Willingness to work in environments with exposure to machinery, sharp objects, open flames, and varying temperature conditions

Job Duties

  • Wash, cut and/or cook vegetables, fruit, meat, fish, poultry and/or seafood to prepare for use
  • Prepare and arrange vegetables and fruits for salads according to recipe and garnishes using hand and electric food service equipment
  • Set up salad bar, clean equipment, work area, utensils, and refrigerator
  • Use prep lists to determine production for the day and prepare ingredients for and mix salad dressings and sauces
  • Maintain a fresh and attractive salad bar as well as the organization and cleanliness of the restaurant
  • Assist different departments and teammates beyond primary job code as needed
  • Perform special projects or assist with other work necessary to operations
  • Adapt to job duties changes including reassignment or additional responsibilities
  • Comply with safety and sanitation procedures and food handling regulations
