Job Description
Transdev is a global leader in mobility solutions operating across 19 countries and employing over 110,000 team members worldwide. Within the United States, Transdev manages transportation systems, vehicle fleets, and mobility services for cities, counties, airports, companies, and universities. With a workforce of 32,000 employees spread over 400 locations and a fleet of more than 17,000 vehicles, Transdev is recognized as a trusted operator and innovator in public transportation and mobility services. The company's commitment to safety, reliability, and innovation drives its purpose of empowering the freedom to move every day, serving the common good with sustainable and accessible mobility solutions.
Transdev is currently seeking a dedicated Safety Trainer to join its Baltimore MTA Mobility team. This full-time, unionized position offers a competitive pay rate of $28.14 per hour under the Collective Bargaining Agreement, along with a robust benefits package that includes vacation, paid sick leave, medical, dental, vision insurance, life insurance, 401K retirement benefits, and paid company holidays. The Safety Trainer position plays a vital role in ensuring the safety and compliance of new drivers through comprehensive classroom and behind-the-wheel training programs. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality safety instruction that aligns with state certification requirements, company policies, and district, state, and federal regulations.
The role involves not only conducting driver training but also maintaining meticulous training documentation to ensure ongoing compliance. Additional responsibilities include supporting safety programs such as accident investigations, managing forms compliance, facilitating safety meetings, and performing other duties as required. The position demands a strong focus on safety, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work flexible shifts to meet the needs of the organization.
Physical demands for this position are significant, requiring the ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions, sometimes in remote locations, and perform tasks such as sitting or standing for extended periods, walking long distances, and handling materials weighing up to 100 pounds. Transdev is committed to providing reasonable accommodations to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the job. As a drug-free workplace, the company requires all applicants to pass a pre-employment drug screen and be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship.
This role is ideal for professionals with 1 to 3 years of experience in transportation and safety, a valid driver's license for at least three years, and comprehensive knowledge of federal and state safety regulations. Transdev's culture fosters an inclusive environment embracing diversity and offering equal employment opportunities to all qualified applicants regardless of race, sex, color, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, genetic data, gender identity, sexual orientation, religion, or other legally protected statuses. Those passionate about promoting safe mobility and committed to continuous improvement in the transportation industry are encouraged to apply and join a company dedicated to innovative mobility solutions and community service.
