As a Project Safety Professional with Harder Mechanical, you will play a vital role in supporting safety standards on an advanced technology project. This is a field-based role that demands close collaboration with project management, field supervision, and craft employees. You will be responsible for identifying hazards, assisting with safe work planning, and reinforcing the company’s strict safety expectations on a large-scale project. The position involves a demanding work schedule of five 10-hour days per week, starting early at 5:00 a.m., with potential weekend work and additional shift coverage as project needs arise. This dynamic role requires a proactive, engaging safety professional who is comfortable working in the field and capable of communicating effectively with diverse teams. While all safety certifications are not mandatory at application, candidates must demonstrate core competencies, a commitment to learning, and the ability to foster a strong safety culture on-site.

The Project Safety Professional will conduct daily tasks such as field observations, job site inspections, and employee coaching to prevent incidents, as well as supporting safety requirements related to fall protection, confined space entry, hazardous energy control, scaffolding, excavation, material handling, and hazard communication. You will be involved in incident investigations, safety orientations, toolbox talks, and pre-task planning activities, ensuring that all safety measures are adhered to and that any corrective actions are implemented promptly. This role is pivotal in maintaining an active construction environment where safety is paramount and continuous improvement is encouraged. With 2+ years of relevant construction safety experience, OSHA 30 Construction Certification, and proficiency in Microsoft Office, candidates will be well-positioned to succeed. Additional certifications and experience in industrial or mechanical settings are beneficial but not required.
