The Safety Manager role at HazTek is a critical position responsible for overseeing all safety operations on commercial construction projects near Houston, TX. This full-time role is ideal for professionals with extensive experience in construction safety, particularly those who are passionate about leading safety initiatives and enforcing best practices in fast-paced, complex job sites. The Safety Manager will serve as the frontline leader in maintaining OSHA compliance, conducting safety audits, managing accident reporting, and ensuring all personnel adhere to rigorous safety standards.

In this role, the Safety Manager will conduct daily safety meetings to update and educate all site workers on potential hazards and mitigation strategies. They will take charge of accident investigations and prepare detailed reports to analyze incidents and recommend preventive measures. The Safety Manager will perform daily site inspections and safety audits to proactively identify risks, ensuring that safety protocols around fall protection, scaffolding, steel erection, and excavation are strictly followed.

Additionally, this position involves managing and overseeing the safety performance of all subcontractors and contractors working on the project, creating a unified approach to safety management. The role requires a strong communicator proficient in Microsoft Office, capable of clearly documenting safety procedures and findings, as well as leading discussions to promote a safety-first mindset. Job Requirements

  • 7 years of direct construction safety experience
  • OSHA 30 certification
  • First Aid/CPR certification
  • Knowledge of OSHA safety standards
  • Ability to lead safety meetings and investigations
  • Effective communication skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum 7 years direct construction safety experience
  • OSHA 30 and First Aid/CPR certification
  • OSHA 510 and or 500 certification is a plus
  • CHST or CSP certification highly preferred
  • Advanced knowledge of construction safety standards
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
