With a commitment to excellence and a focus on safety, technology, and workforce development, Southland Industries serves a diverse range of commercial, industrial, and institutional markets. The company is known for its collaborative culture, employee empowerment, and a strong emphasis on diversity and inclusion, fostering an environment where every employee can thrive and contribute to the organization's success. As an employee-owned company, Southland Industries invests deeply in the development and well-being of its workforce, offering robust training programs, competitive benefits, and career advancement opportunities.
The Safety Manager (Lead) position is an integral role within Southland Industries, focused on enhancing and maintaining the highest safety standards on site, particularly for projects located in Las Vegas, NV, with potential for future travel to support division-wide initiatives. Reporting directly to the Division Safety Manager and leadership teams, this role is responsible for enforcing OSHA regulations and company safety policies on job sites, ensuring not only compliance but fostering a culture of continuous safety improvement. The position involves regular inspections and audits of complex construction environments, documentation and reporting of safety concerns, and the development and implementation of loss control strategies to prevent future incidents.
The Safety Manager (Lead) will coordinate safety training, manage emergency responses, and lead less-experienced safety personnel by providing guidance and support. Strong problem-solving and communication skills are essential, as the role requires the ability to influence and drive change among various stakeholders. This leadership position empowers the individual to independently address disciplinary issues and consult with management regarding decisions impacting company safety culture. The Safety Manager is a key contributor to shaping a safe, compliant, and productive workplace where employee well-being is paramount.
Southland Industries is looking for a highly skilled and dedicated professional with significant experience in safety management, preferably with a background in the fire protection industry. The ideal candidate will have comprehensive knowledge of OSHA regulations, safety management systems, and industry best practices, along with certifications such as OSHA 10HR, 30HR, or 40HR, CPR and First Aid, and possibly OSHA 500 or CHST certifications. A bachelor's degree in Safety, Health, Environmental Sciences, or a related field is preferred, alongside 7-10 years of relevant experience.
In this role, the successful candidate will contribute to Southland's commitment to creating a diverse, inclusive, and respectful work environment that values continuous learning, accountability, and innovation. This is an excellent opportunity to advance your career in an energetic, growth-oriented company that places people first and values your professional development.
Southland Industries offers a comprehensive benefits package including a 401(k) plan with company match, medical, dental, and vision insurance fully paid for employees, life and disability insurances, pre-tax flexible spending plans, paid holidays, vacation, personal time, and many opportunities for professional growth and training. This position requires presence on-site in Las Vegas, NV, and potential travel to support other projects as needs arise. Candidates must pass drug testing, background checks, and reference verification as part of the hiring process. Southland Industries is an equal opportunity employer committed to non-discrimination and fostering a safe workplace for all employees.
