Job Description
Garney is a leading construction company specializing in water and sewer pipeline projects that provide essential infrastructure services to communities. With a strong commitment to quality, safety, and innovation, Garney has established itself as one of the most trusted names in the construction industry. They focus on delivering high-impact projects that ensure access to clean water and effective wastewater management through expert engineering, experienced workforce, and cutting-edge technologies. Garney prides itself on fostering a positive workplace culture that values diversity, equal opportunity, and employee well-being.
The Safety Manager position at Garney is a critical role dedicated to ensuring that safety remains the foremost priority on all water and sewer pipeline projects. This role involves overseeing safety regulations and standards, conducting safety training for field personnel, and executing daily safety inspections to mitigate risks and hazards on job sites. The Safety Manager will also be responsible for investigating accidents and incidents to identify root causes and implement corrective measures, thereby maintaining a safe working environment. Candidates with a degree in civil engineering, mechanical engineering, construction engineering, construction management, or safety-related disciplines are preferred. Additionally, a commitment to continuous learning and obtaining relevant certifications such as OSHA 30 and CHST within six months of employment is essential.
This position offers dynamic opportunities for growth and development, including the chance to collaborate with experienced project managers and site workers. The role requires flexibility for travel or relocation to various project sites, underlining Garney's expansive operations. Employees benefit from a robust compensation and benefits package, including free medical, dental, vision, and prescription plans with no premiums, virtual doctor visits without co-pays, shares of company stock at no cost starting day one, and a 401(k) plan with a 3.5% employer match. Other perks include student loan resources, weekly paychecks, paid time off, and eight paid holidays annually. Garney further supports employee health through a Health Savings Account (HSA) with lump sum and matching contributions, free life insurance and disability policy, and free access to healthcare coordinators. Mental health support is available via counseling sessions at no cost, along with legal and financial consultations, weight loss programs, maternity health assistance, and prescriptions for chronic conditions. Employees are also entitled to a 50% discount on Garney apparel, creating a comprehensive package aimed at ensuring job satisfaction and work-life balance.
Garney's commitment to inclusivity and equal opportunity is demonstrated by its proactive recruitment practices, embracing diversity regardless of race, religion, gender identity, sexual orientation, veteran status, disability, or any legally protected category. Furthermore, Garney conducts thorough background screenings and upholds a drug-free workplace philosophy to safeguard the health and safety of all employees. Potential Safety Manager candidates are encouraged to apply through the official Garney careers portal and direct inquiries to the dedicated recruitment email to facilitate timely and organized communication. This role is perfect for safety professionals passionate about construction and infrastructure projects, who are keen to contribute to a company that values safety, quality, and employee well-being deeply.
