This role is vital to the smooth operation of our bar, involved in a range of duties including stock management, cleanliness, and assisting the cocktail servers. The barback is tasked with preparing the bar before shifts, restocking throughout service, and ensuring the bar area remains clean and well-organized. This support allows bartenders and servers to focus on delivering a high level of customer interaction and quality service.\n\nThe ideal candidate must be detail-oriented, physically capable, and have experience working within an upscale dining environment. The role demands speed, accuracy, efficiency, and a team-oriented mindset, contributing to a collaborative workplace culture. The barback's responsibilities extend beyond logistics to include bussing tables, maintaining table settings, and assisting with food service tasks such as serving and cleaning tables. Attention to guest needs and maintaining standards set by the company are critical components of the role. Furthermore, excellent communication skills are essential for coordinating effectively with bartenders, servers, and other staff members. This position demands the ability to work with minimal supervision while maintaining professional conduct and confidentiality.\n\nCandidates should possess a basic understanding of safety rules and be fluent in English, with additional language skills considered a plus. Physically, the role requires the ability to lift and carry heavy items multiple times throughout an eight-hour shift and engage in various movements across the work area. Job Requirements
- Must be able to endure various physical movements throughout the work areas
- Ability to lift and carry 30-50 lbs overhead 25 times over an 8 hour period
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Must be able to satisfactorily communicate with guests and co-workers to their understanding
- Must be able to perform job functions with attention to detail, speed and accuracy
- Must be able to prioritize, organize and follow-up
- Must be a clear thinker, remaining calm and resolving problems using good judgment
- Must be able to follow directions thoroughly
- Must understand a guest’s service needs
- Must be able to work cohesively with co-workers as part of a team
- Must be able to work with minimal supervision
- Must be able to maintain confidentiality of guest information and pertinent hotel data
Job Qualifications
- Minimum of six months experience in a fine dining or casually elegant upscale establishment preferred
- Ability to clearly communicate information with bartenders, servers and customers
- Must have developed language skills to the point to be able to read and understand instructions, safety rules, etc.
- Required to speak, read and write English, with fluency in other languages preferred
Job Duties
- Responsible for stocking all supplies in the main bar before, during and after each shift, including paper goods, alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, consumables, glassware, linen, condiments used in mixing drinks, stocking the bins
- Responsible for the cleanliness of both the bar and service areas through regular maintenance projects and nightly cleaning duties
- Responsible for assisting cocktail servers in all aspects of food service
- from setting silver, serving food to the final cleaning of the tables
- Responsible for bussing all tables of glassware and debris during the course of service
- Responsible for the changing of all tablecloths and candles during service
- Maintain all standards as set by RMOTC
- Attendance at all scheduled meetings
