Job Description
Deer Valley Resort is a premier mountain ski resort located in the picturesque Wasatch Mountains of Utah, nestled within the historic mining town of Park City. The position of Cook II at Deer Valley Resort is a seasonal role, available for the Winter 2025-26 season, offering competitive pay at $22.50 per hour. This role plays a crucial part in delivering the high-quality dining experience Deer Valley is known for. The Cook II assists the Sous Chef in the preparation and presentation of daily menus, restocking ingredients, and serving food selections during peak hours at various stations. This job requires a strong commitment to quality and efficiency to ensure guests receive delicious meals presented attractively and served promptly. The cook must adhere to recipes and collaborate with the Sous Chef and Executive Chef to develop new food selections, maintaining culinary excellence and innovation. Maintaining cleanliness and organization in service lines, managing mise-en-place, proper food storage, and ensuring freshness and minimal waste are also key responsibilities. The role is physically demanding, requiring the ability to stand for long periods and lift between 25 to 50 pounds. Job Duties
- Cook dishes according to recipes and develop new food selections in conjunction with the sous chef and executive chef
- keep service lines clean, change pans as needed, and ensure food selections are well-stocked and appropriately garnished
- ensure mise-en-place is in sufficient quantities for the day’s requirements
- properly store and rotate food to ensure freshness and avoid waste
- complete daily inventories
- assist servers during busy times
- perform other duties as assigned
