Job Description
UniFirst is a prominent leader in the garment services industry, operating on an international scale with over 16,000 team members who serve approximately 300,000 business customer locations across the United States, Canada, and Europe. Renowned for its commitment to quality and customer satisfaction, UniFirst has earned distinguished recognition, including placements on Selling Power magazine's "Best Companies to Sell For" list and Forbes magazine's "Platinum 400 – Best Big Companies" list. The company's extensive reach and stable presence in an $18 billion industry provide a dynamic and secure environment for professionals seeking to grow and thrive.
UniFirst fosters an inclusive and supportive culture focused on equity, diversity, and opportunities for advancement. Their commitment to equal employment opportunity ensures a welcoming workplace for individuals from diverse backgrounds. The company also prioritizes employee development through formal training programs such as the SCP (Service Consultant Program), career development initiatives, and a strong sense of community within the workplace.
The role of a Route Service Representative (RSR) at UniFirst is pivotal in bridging the company with its valued customers. As an RSR, you will embody the face of UniFirst within your assigned route, cultivating meaningful relationships through reliable and professional service. This position is field-based and dynamic, ideal for individuals who enjoy being active, engaging with clients, and exercising autonomy in managing their responsibilities.
The core responsibilities of an RSR include managing daily deliveries and pickups using a company walk-in truck, ensuring safety and operational accuracy, and actively growing customer accounts through upselling and introducing new products and services. You will contribute to maintaining high customer satisfaction by consistently delivering timely and precise service while handling service inquiries and troubleshooting issues on the spot.
This role demands a balance between physical stamina and customer-centric skills. The work environment spans both indoor and outdoor settings, requiring manual handling of equipment and garments up to 50 pounds and the ability to remain on your feet for extended periods. Reliable time management and route efficiency are crucial for success, alongside adherence to safety standards aligned with Department of Transportation regulations.
The schedule for an RSR is highly predictable, working Monday through Friday during daytime hours, free from nights and weekends, which supports a healthy work-life balance. The position offers commissioned compensation from day one, allowing motivated individuals to increase their earnings as they expand their route and enhance customer relationships.
Joining UniFirst as a Route Service Representative means becoming part of a company that values dependability, professionalism, and growth. You will receive competitive wages, access to 401(k) with company match, profit sharing, health and life insurance, tuition reimbursement, paid time off, and employee discounts. With structured training and continuous development opportunities, you will be equipped and encouraged to excel in your role while advancing your career.
