The role of Route Rider at Bimbo Bakeries USA offers an exciting opportunity to join this dynamic and forward-thinking company. A Route Rider is responsible for merchandising, stocking, and ensuring optimal product rotation on store shelves to maintain the highest quality and freshness. This role plays a key part in driving sales by securing new display space, setting up incremental displays, and leveraging sales data to influence store-level strategies. Building and maintaining strong customer relationships enables the Route Rider to follow up on new account opportunities and ensure the execution of promotional activities.

Route Riders also introduce new products and services to maximize sales and shelf space in existing accounts while pursuing new customers. In addition, the role requires managing daily route settlement procedures including accounting for all products, invoices, and cash, along with maintaining accurate inventory counts. The safe operation of company route trucks while completing required Department of Transportation (DOT) daily logs is a critical function of this position. Timely submission of required documentation, paperwork, and deposits further supports route efficiency and compliance.

Job Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years of age or older
  • Must have a valid driver's license with a safe driving record
  • Must be able to acquire and maintain a DOT medical card
  • Successfully able to obtain Chauffeur License if job location is in IN, MI, TN
  • Ability to climb, push/pull, bend, stoop, and kneel for extended periods as well as perform frequent reaching and use of fingers
  • 1-3 years of related experience in Direct Sales Distribution is preferred
  • Consistent with United States Department of Transportation regulations, ability to read and speak English to converse with the public, understand highway signs, respond to inquiries, and complete reports and records

Job Qualifications

  • Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record
  • Ability to acquire and maintain a DOT medical card
  • Experience in Direct Sales Distribution (DSD) preferred
  • Ability to read and speak English sufficiently to converse with the public, understand traffic signs, and complete reports
  • Ability to obtain Chauffeur License if job location is in IN, MI, TN
  • Ability to perform physical tasks including climbing, pushing/pulling, bending, stooping, kneeling, and frequent reaching and finger use
  • At least 1-3 years of related experience in sales distribution preferred

Job Duties

  • Merchandise, stock, and ensure the proper rotation of products on store shelves and displays to guarantee the best quality and freshness
  • Drive sales by securing new display space, setting up incremental displays, and using sales data to inform store-level strategies
  • Follow up on new account opportunities and build strong customer relationships while ensuring the execution of promotions

  • Conduct daily route settlement procedures to account for all products, invoices, and cash while maintaining proper inventory counts
  • Safely drive the company route truck and complete DOT daily logs
  • Submit other required documentation, paperwork, and deposits on time
