UniFirst is dedicated to fostering a workplace that is supportive, inclusive, and diverse. The Route Helper role at UniFirst is integral to supporting the Service Department’s daily operations. As a Route Helper, you will collaborate closely with Route Service Representatives (RSRs) to assist with loading and unloading trucks, managing garment inventories, and handling deliveries and pickups for customers. This is a hands-on, active position requiring physical stamina and attention to detail to ensure all customer needs are met accurately and efficiently. During instances where routes need coverage, Route Helpers will drive company vehicles, servicing assigned stops professionally and timely, which provides an excellent opportunity to build customer relationships and enhance service quality.
This position requires a customer-centric mindset and a strong sense of responsibility, as you will be interacting directly with customers and contributing to their overall satisfaction. Daily vehicle maintenance and adherence to Department of Transportation (DOT) guidelines are mandatory to ensure safe and reliable operations. The role also includes responsibilities related to accounts receivable, such as collecting payments and maintaining accurate paperwork. With a focus on teamwork and dependability, this role embodies UniFirst's commitment to delivering exceptional service to every customer.
UniFirst offers a competitive compensation package for this position, including wages, 401(k) with company match, profit sharing, health and life insurance, paid time off, employee discounts, tuition reimbursement, and comprehensive training opportunities through its SCP program. The work schedule is typically Monday through Friday during daytime hours, supporting a healthy work-life balance without night or weekend shifts.
Joining UniFirst as a Route Helper is an excellent career choice for individuals who value dynamic, active work environments where every day brings new challenges and opportunities. The company provides continuous career development and a culture that embraces inclusivity and community support. If you are motivated to contribute to a team, uphold high safety and service standards, and grow within a recognized leader in the garment services industry, this role at UniFirst will enable you to thrive and succeed.
