The role of a CDL-B Driver at Performance Foodservice is a vital part of the food supply chain, ensuring timely and safe delivery of food products to various customers. This position is offered as a full-time opportunity, with a competitive pay rate of $25.85 per hour and a schedule from Monday to Friday, including occasional Saturdays. Starting times vary between 4 am to 6 am, with work continuing until the day's duties are completed. Drivers benefit from day-one health and wellness initiatives, company stock purchase options, matched 401K contributions, education assistance programs, paid time off, and more.

As the face of Performance Foodservice, the CDL-B Driver plays a crucial role in building and maintaining positive relationships with customers by delivering their orders accurately and professionally. Responsibilities include operating tractor trailers or straight trucks on local, intrastate, and interstate routes, including over-the-road and shuttle assignments. Drivers are responsible for performing detailed safety checks on vehicles and trailers according to Department of Transportation regulations, ensuring all loads are secured and meet safety standards, and handling required delivery documentation accurately. Beyond driving, drivers engage directly with customers to verify deliveries and collect payments when necessary, contributing to customer satisfaction and company reputation.

This role demands more than just operational skill; it requires a commitment to safety, professionalism, and teamwork. Drivers also maintain cleanliness and order in their equipment and work environment, complete necessary paperwork diligently, and report any issues that could affect safety or service quality.
