The Route Driver role at The Kendall Group is a critical position within the company’s operational framework. Reporting directly to the Warehouse Supervisor, Manager, or Location Manager, the Route Driver is primarily responsible for the transportation and delivery of goods via delivery vans and straight trucks (box trucks) to various customer locations as assigned. As the frontline representative, the Route Driver not only ensures timely and accurate deliveries but also embodies the company’s commitment to exceptional customer service and professionalism.
This role is multifaceted; when delivery duties are not scheduled, Route Drivers contribute to intra-warehouse activities and assist with other operational tasks. This includes truck loading and unloading, operating warehouse equipment such as forklifts and hand trucks, and performing general warehouse duties. Additionally, the Route Driver is responsible for maintaining their delivery vehicle to ensure it is clean, safe, mechanically sound, and compliant with company standards. Safety is paramount in this role with the expectation of adhering to established safety procedures and promoting a secure working environment.
A typical day also involves active route management involving the evaluation and optimization of delivery routes to enhance efficiency and timeliness. This data-driven approach to logistics reflects The Kendall Group's commitment to continuous improvement in operational processes. Participation in regular meetings and trainings furthers the Route Driver's professional growth and knowledge base.
