Job Description

UniFirst is a global leader in the garment services industry, recognized as an international company with a significant presence across the United States, Canada, and Europe. Established as a key player in an $18 billion market, UniFirst provides comprehensive garment management and facility services to over 300,000 business customer locations. With a dedicated workforce of over 16,000 team partners, the company prides itself on delivering high-quality solutions that help businesses maintain professional appearances through uniform rentals and related services. UniFirst has earned industry-wide recognition, including being featured among the top companies to work for in prestigious publications such as Selling Power magazine and Forbes magazine, highlighting the company’s commitment to both its employees and customers. As an equal opportunity employer, UniFirst fosters an inclusive workplace, valuing diversity and ensuring equal treatment irrespective of race, gender, age, or any other protected characteristic. The company's core mission revolves around service excellence, customer satisfaction, and continuous improvement to remain a trusted partner in garment services.

The role of Route Coverage Specialist at UniFirst is vital to maintaining the seamless delivery of products and services that uphold the company’s reputation for reliability and quality. This position primarily involves stepping in to cover delivery routes in the absence of the regular Route Service Representatives (RSRs), ensuring that customers continue to receive uninterrupted service. The specialist is trained to manage multiple routes, adapting to various customer needs and locations, fostering flexibility and responsiveness in daily operations. The job demands a proactive and agile individual who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment where no two days are the same. Responsibilities include the safe transportation and delivery of clean garments and other products, collection of soiled items for processing, and management of route documentation and inventories.

More than just a delivery position, this role requires excellent customer service skills, problem-solving abilities, and effective communication to support strong customer relations and operational efficiency. The specialist collaborates closely with service teams and management to assist with new account setups, rerouting, collections, and sales opportunities, contributing to customer satisfaction and business growth. Safety and compliance with traffic regulations and company policies are paramount. Additionally, this role offers variety, autonomy, and the chance to work independently while being part of a supportive team. Ideal candidates enjoy adapting to changing schedules, routes, and weather conditions, and have a strong desire to build positive customer relationships.

UniFirst provides competitive compensation and benefits including a salary package, 401(k) with company match, profit sharing, health and life insurance, paid time off, employee discounts, and tuition reimbursement. The company is dedicated to career development and work-life balance, offering a Monday to Friday day shift schedule and an inclusive culture where diversity is celebrated. This opportunity is suited to individuals who are dependable, service-oriented, and eager to grow within a supportive and well-established organization.
