Job Description
ASH Hotels is a distinguished hospitality company that designs, develops, owns, and operates a curated collection of unique and historic properties across key locations. With a focus on creating immersive environments, ASH Hotels transforms each property into a dynamic setting where guests experience more than just accommodation—they engage with deeply layered narratives that connect the past with the present. ASH Hotels embodies the spirit of local culture and history, offering spaces that serve as living movie sets. Each property invites guests to explore vibrant communities and enjoy personalized, high-quality service that inspires repeat visits. The company's dedication to storytelling, architectural preservation, and modern luxury sets it apart as a leader in boutique hotel experiences.
Hotel Ulysses, located in the Mt. Vernon neighborhood of Baltimore, MD, is a flagship property within ASH Hotels. Housed in the historic Latrobe building, Ulysses offers 116 guest rooms alongside distinct venues including Blooms cocktail lounge and Ash-Bar, a salon-style cafe. The hotel represents a blend of Baltimore's rich historical legacy with contemporary artistic evolution. It serves a diverse clientele ranging from local explorers to touring guests, emphasizing exceptional guest experiences and community connection rather than merely supporting tourism. Hotel Ulysses is committed to delivering one-of-a-kind stays infused with style, comfort, and cultural resonance.
The role of Rooms Manager at Hotel Ulysses is pivotal to maintaining the highest standards of guest service and operational excellence. This full-time position is responsible for leading all front desk and housekeeping operations, ensuring seamless coordination across teams to create a welcoming and efficient environment for guests. The Rooms Manager will oversee everything from check-in and check-out processes to the cleanliness and upkeep of all guest rooms and public spaces.
The ideal candidate for this role is a passionate hospitality professional with 3-5 years of leadership experience in hotel front office management. They should excel at fostering a warm and inviting atmosphere, nurturing strong team dynamics, and promptly resolving guest concerns with diplomacy and professionalism. Exceptional communication skills and an eye for detail are crucial, as is the ability to manage flexible schedules spanning weekdays, weekends, and holidays. This role demands a proactive leader who can handle financial oversight, staff training, and collaboration across departments while upholding ASH Hotels' standards and policies.
This position offers the opportunity to grow within the prestigious ASH Hotels portfolio while contributing directly to the guest experience and operational success of Hotel Ulysses. Employees benefit from competitive amenities including health, dental, and vision insurance coverage, vacation and paid time off, 401k with company match, staff discounts on food, beverages, and hotel stays, as well as ongoing professional development. ASH Hotels values diversity and inclusion, providing equal employment opportunities in an environment that supports respectful and fair treatment for all team members. Joining Hotel Ulysses as Rooms Manager means becoming part of a visionary team passionate about hospitality, culture, and community engagement.
