Job Description
ProHealth Care Food Services is a part of the ProHealth Care system, a well-established healthcare provider serving the Waukesha, Wisconsin community and surrounding areas. ProHealth Care is dedicated to fostering the health and well-being of its community through compassionate and high-quality care. With nearly 5,000 clinical and non-clinical employees and physicians working together, the organization creates a supportive and welcoming environment where everyone contributes to patient care and is treated with kindness and respect.
In the food service sector, ProHealth Care Food Services is known for its commitment to culinary excellence, offering a diverse and vibrant menu in their open-concept dining spaces. Their offerings range from gourmet hand-crafted salads and scratch-made comfort-food recipes to unique ethnic and global cuisine. Additionally, grab-and-go items provide quick nourishment options for those on the move. The team regularly introduces weekly specials and promotional events to keep the menu fresh and exciting. The High-End Catering Team associated with ProHealth Care proudly rivals any 5-star restaurant, effectively dispelling the outdated perception of hospital food. Furthermore, the department emphasizes supporting local vendors by sourcing ingredients from fresh local producers and featuring Door County Coffee. This dedication to quality and fresh ingredients makes ProHealth Care Food Services a standout in healthcare dining.
The role of Room Service Tray Runner within ProHealth Care is an essential part of ensuring patients receive timely and friendly food delivery. This position is scheduled on a pool basis with shifts varying from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm every two weeks, including every other weekend and a rotating holiday schedule. It is a part-time/as-needed role, offering flexibility but does not come with benefits. The role includes responsibilities such as verifying patient diets with two-patient identifiers before delivering food trays, maintaining cleanliness and safety in the work environment, and communicating effectively with supervisors and other staff members.
Room Service Tray Runners perform all necessary duties related to serving food to patients, adhering to scripted communication protocols, and ensuring patient needs are met courteously and efficiently. They handle any inquiries, requests, or complaints in a professional manner and report unresolved issues to management. Additional tasks include trouble-shooting complaints with leadership support, filling requisitions and supply lists, and minimizing food waste by rotating items for freshness and safety. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals who enjoy working in a community-focused culture, want to contribute directly to patient experience, and appreciate a work environment dedicated to professional growth and culinary excellence.
