Job Description

ProHealth Care is a highly respected healthcare organization located in Waukesha, Wisconsin. The organization employs nearly 5,000 dedicated clinical and non-clinical staff and physicians who work collectively to enhance the health and well-being of the community. ProHealth Care prides itself on fostering an inclusive and welcoming environment where every team member is treated with kindness and respect and everyone contributes to quality patient outcomes. The company values diversity and is fully committed to equal employment opportunities, maintaining a drug-free workplace, and ensuring a collaborative work atmosphere that supports professional growth and development.

This position is for a Room Service Tray Runner within ProHealth Care Food Services, responsible for ensuring that patients and customers receive their meals in a timely, friendly, and efficient manner. The Food Services department offers a diverse menu that includes gourmet, hand-crafted salads, scratch-made comfort food, and a unique interpretation of ethnic and global cuisine. Beyond regular dining, ProHealth Care supports local vendors by serving Door County Coffee and sourcing fresh ingredients wherever possible. The catering team here has a reputation for high-quality services that compete with top luxury establishments, elevating the typical hospital food experience.

As a Tray Runner, you will work primarily on the 2nd shift in a pool/as-needed capacity. The schedule varies, with shifts starting between 3:00 pm and 5:00 pm and ending between 7:00 pm and 8:00 pm every two weeks. The role requires availability for every other weekend duty and a rotating holiday schedule. There are opportunities for cross-training and potential for morning shifts, offering a flexible working environment. Although this is a part-time position with no benefits, it provides valuable experience in the food service and healthcare sectors and allows for a community-engaged work atmosphere.

In this role, you will be responsible for delivering food trays to patients in a courteous, professional manner. Using two patient identifiers following established procedures before delivering meals ensures patient safety and accuracy. You will be the face of food service delivery, responding promptly to any patient complaints, requests, or questions with tact and knowledge. The position entails maintaining a clean and safe workspace, reporting any hazards or equipment issues, and assisting with inventory management, including filling food requisitions and supply lists for the room service operation. Problem-solving and communication skills are vital as you will work closely with leads, supervisors, and managers to resolve any food service-related concerns. This role offers hands-on experience in a respectful environment centered on nurturing community health and wellness while enhancing your professional skills in food service delivery and patient interaction.
